While most brides look forward to picking out their bridesmaids’ dresses and flower girl dresses, the thought of choosing ring bearer outfits isn’t usually nearly as exciting. Mainly, this is because fashion options appear to be limited for the little men in a wedding. However, this doesn’t mean that you should pick your ring bearer’s outfit quickly and without much thought. Below are a few things to keep in mind when choosing ring bearer outfits.
- What is your theme? The first thing you need to take into consideration as you begin browsing ring bearer outfits is the overall theme of your wedding. For instance, if your wedding is going to be semi-formal, then you probably don’t want your ring bearer wearing a full-tailed tuxedo.
- How are the other members of the bridal party dressed? In addition to your theme, you should consider the rest of the bridal party’s attire when choosing your ring bearer outfits. For example, if you’ve decided on a “Hawaiian” theme and your bridesmaids are wearing tropical dresses with your groomsmen in khaki shorts and flowered shirts, you don’t want your ring bearer wearing a suit. Also, consider the colors being worn by your bridal party.
- His age. Finally, you need to consider the age of your ring bearer when choosing his attire. Keep in mind that young boys (5 and under) aren’t going to care about how formal your reception is if they are hot – they’re going to take off what they can to get cool. Therefore, depending on the age, you may consider the new tuxedos with short pants or just having your ring bearer wear a suit with a dress shirt and vest instead of a full-fledged tux.
